Welcome to St. Salvator Lutheran Church

St. Salvator is a Lutheran congregation belonging to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Established in 1840, St. Salvator is one of the oldest Lutheran churches in Washington County Illinois, and has been faithfully serving Venedy and the surrounding area for over 180 years!

Made up of both young and old, and with members from all around Washington County and the surrounding areas, the members of St. Salvator warmly and eagerly invite you to join us as we worship our Lord, Jesus Christ, and as we walk together in faith in Him!

Chancel and Altar at St Salvator Lutheran Church, Venedy

On Sundays, congregational life at St. Salvator revolves around the Sunday Service, and supporting ministries.

Utilizing the rich and historic liturgy of the Lutheran Church, our services are based in Holy Scripture, are centered on the proclamation of God's Holy Word, and the receiving of His gifts found in the sacraments.

Sunday School is offered at 9:00 am

Sunday Services are held at 10:00 am

Know Before You Go

Parking

St. Salvator is located in a residential area of Venedy. There is a paved parking lot on the east side of the church building, and a gravel lot on the west side of the education building. There is also street parking available, but we ask that you don't block the driveways or mailboxes.

 Accessibility

Both buildings are handicap accessible. There is a ramp into the church building, and a paved walkway between the church and the education building. If you are not able to make it to the chancel for communion, please let an elder know and Pastor Jim will bring the Lord's Supper to you!

Bathrooms

St. Salvator Lutheran church was built in the mid 1800's. As a result, there is no running water in the church building, thus no bathrooms.

There are bathrooms in the education building which are available for use during all church events.
